Broccoli is very spulphurous and gas producing. I have it too, so that I don't eat broccoli tips ever aynmore.
You can eat the stem- right up to the dark green bit.
If you cut off the very dark green tips, so you're left with a bald looking broccoli stem with all the branches, then peel the tough skin off with a knife ( if comes off easy) you can boil these stem bits and they don't produce gas.
Make a very creamy soup with it too- once those tiny dark green buds are gone, there isn't the same amount of sulphur gas anymore.
I love broccoloi but never eat it, because I can't stand the gas and bloating, However a nice creamy rich soup made from just the peeled stems, is SO GOOD!!!
You wouldn't believe how good it tastes. But do take th skin off- it peels off very satisfyingly.
PS Beano absolutely makes it worse.
The enzymes made in Beano aggravate your stomach, simpel fact is, broccoli is a sulphuric vegetable, once cooked the gases are still bad. When raw, it is the completeyl indigestible outer skin and the green acid -making tips that secret the gas, your stomach has enough to do.
Beano can absolutely make it much worse.
FWIW, I eat a raw diet, and it is the best thing for stomach gas, but I still peel the broccoli and take the green tips off.
