Nutrition questions?

How much calories should a 13 year old girl have a day and how cn u loose weight in ur legs without all of it turning into muscle

    You're still growing. I don't mean to say that to you in a condescending way at all; it's just the biological truth. Because of that, you should not deny yourself food if you're hungry, because you need those nutrients and calories to grow. That doesn't mean you should go hog wild on soda and cookies either- eat plenty of healthy, vegetarian foods, when you're hungry, and stop when you're full. Add in 30 minutes of exercise a day, and you shouldn't have to worry about counting calories and all that jazz until you hit college-age. Right now, if you're physically active and growing, 1700/day, plus or minus 200, is probably a good range to aim for. If you're not hungry, eat less. If you're famished, eat more.

    You can't spot lose weight- if you're going to lose weight, your body will decide where. You can, however, tone up muscles in an area to improve their appearance. Tone up is not the same as bulk up! Think of ballet dancers- they have long, gorgeous legs, and they are crazy strong (coming from an ex-dancer myself!) Muscle is really where it's at- plus lean muscles burn more calories/hour than untoned muscle or fat. Being strong and healthy is always better than being a wafer, in many more ways than one. Your body will thank you for the kind treatment as you age better than your peers.

    Bubbles, eat NO fast food, eat NO cookies or cake, well maybe just one piece for the holdiay etc.

    If you want, you are safe to eat anything you want, as long as it is fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, cooked vegetables, brown rice, lean meat, or tofu, grains and legumes- like chickpeas lentils and fava benas- they all have NO fat in them.

    black eye peas

    black beans

    fava beans

    chickpeas

    kidney beans

    orange lentils,

    all of these are filling and NO fat. Americans eat a reallly bad diet! Like they eat lasagna, pizza, meatloaf, cheese stuff, always cakes and pies at every meal, an din the morning they eat pancakes with butter ANd syrups and it's just plain wrong.

    SO eat oatmeal instead of waffles loaded with butter and nutella, and don't eat candy bars too much, Just cut back eating third portions, and if you get hungry eat a piece of fruit.

    Eat brown WHOLEWHEAT bread and pita- not the white stuff.

    Eat fresh vegetables NOT canned every chance you can get, you will loost weight, just by not eating fast food and pizza, and eating salads with filling chikpeas and brown rice, instead of a greasy hamburger.
