Lou Dobbs to Latinos I am one of your greatest friends he now supports a plan to legalize undocumented workers?
In an interview with Telemundo, the former CNN anchor — who became a household name for his tough views on illegal immigrants — said he now supports a plan to legalize undocumented workers.
"We need the ability to legalize illegal immigrants under certain conditions," Dobbs said on the Spanish-language network on Friday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Dobbs — who quit his lucrative gig on the struggling network two weeks ago — said that he is eager to work with the Latino community.
"Whatever you have thought of me in the past, I can tell you right now that I am one of your greatest friends and I mean for us to work together," he said.
His name has also been bandied about as a possible contender for the New Jersey Senate Race, which would pit the longtime Garden State resident Senator Robert Menendez — the Senate’s only current Hispanic member.
Dobbs recently admitted he has engaged in discussions about a possible run for the presidency in 2012.
His spokesman, Bob Dilenschneider, said Dobbs is reaching out to Hispanics to clear up "misconceptions."
"He feels we’ve got to come up with solutions on how to make those who qualify legal. I don’t think he has the answer but he wants to have a discussion," said Dilenschneider.
"He’s recognizing that there is a lot of misconceptions from the Latino groups and he’s saying he’s got to correct it."
He said that a desire to run for office is part of the reason he wants to clear the air.
"No question, if he runs for politics, that is obviously one of the considerations. The Latino vote is going to be important," he said.
Early polling shows Dobbs garnering 14 percent of the vote for a 2012 White House run, with President Obama taking in 42 percent and hypothetical GOP candidate Mitt Romney earning 34 percent in a three-way matchup, according to the Rasmussen Reports.
