Well Ann, hopefully you don't have a crack in the unit. If you do, it maybe time for another one. Och!!! Please remember to check with a reportable plumber in your area first and it's best to get a male friend to be there just to say "yes or no" to the contractor. Some scumbags will see that you're a female and try to take advantage of your lack of knowledge in repairs. The best idea I can give is for you to go on-line to askthisoldhouse.com Ask This Old House.com, there you'll find a great plumber (as I) name Rich C. to answer any questions for you. Good Luck!!!Source(s): experience in both areas Plumber/Remodeling

You may get some good answers about who to contact for repairs or possibly even repair yourselves, IF... you give the brand of the furnace, what type of fuel it uses
( natural gas, propane or electric ), and some information about what it is or isn't doing. There's a lot of very smart people reading these problems that can help IF they have an idea of what's going on with your furnace. This is a poor time of the year to have furnace problems, so please update your question and give further information!
