What was the status of labor unions in America from1830 to 1860?

    In 1834 Women workers of Lowell Mills organized a union called The Factory Girls Association and staged a strike to protest a twenty five percent wage cut.

    In 1842 the Massachussetts Supreme court ruled that in the case of Commonwealth v. Hunt that Labor Unions were legal and that they had the ability to protest
