Is the death of our temporal bodies the end?
So what is real "death"? Jesus brought Lazarus back to life again. Could He have prevented Lazarus' death? Sure. But He was looking for sincerity of faith by those who surrounded Lazarus. Lazarus had to die before he could live in order that God could be glorified in it. And I think this truly exemplifies for us that in order to have the greatest affect upon others as Christians, we have to die out first to our sins, becoming new creatures as it were, that others may see the transformation in us in order that they too may have a change of heart and be able to live. Christ knows the beginning from the end of any situation.
The second point on this; is that those who follow Christ sincerely and know God in a personal way, will not experience real death.
What is real death in the sense that I am speaking?
Physical death is the separation of the soul from the body. Spiritual death is the separation of the soul from God.
There are things that affect us physically, and there are things that affect us spiritually. What we do with the spiritual will determine how the physical is maintained.
