A. 257 and 65537 are prime.

B. 257 and 65537 are primes

prime... 是行容詞 [要用再名 詞前 ]

是名詞 但要加 the

A .B 是不對

A 257 and 65537 are prime numbers.

B 257 AND 65537 are the prime.

兩句都對。

大部份數論書都是把 prime 當成專有名詞，例如：

Hardy and Wright, "An Introduction to the Theory of Numbers," Oxford at the Clarendon Press.

Coppel, "Number Theory: An Introduction to Mathematics," Springer.

Manin, YU. I., "An Introduction to Modern Number Theory," Spriner.

但也有少部份書會偶然間把它當形容詞用，例如：

Moser, "An Introduction to the Theory of Numbers," The Trilla Group.
