boiled in butter releases the chemical compound that is an excellent anti inflammatory that arthritic sufferers look for. This chemical does not release when grass is smoked.

The correct answer- THC is fat soluble, therefore, it easily activates and attaches to the fat in the butter. Effect-wise, when you consume THC butter, it can take up to 2 hours to kick in, as apposed to almost immediately when smoked. The high lasts upwards to 8-10 hours when eaten, and from personal experience, it can be too much if you consume too much. The high is somewhat more mellow and psychedelic it seems, when eaten. I enjoy it both ways (smoking and eating). I hope this was helpfulSource(s): Personal experience, experienced drug user
