Remember the good old days, 5 cent candy bars?

Fellow Senior Citizens, what are some of the prices you remember? Candy bars were 5 cents or 6 for a quarter, 35 cents to get in a movie. What do you remember?

Yes 5 cent candy bars, even penny candy, sometimes two for a penny.

A movie theatre, a couple of blocks from my house was only a dime.

and the movie theaters down in shopping district, during the summer was two movies and cartoons for 3- 7-up bottle caps.

Gas was about .25 a gallon.

I used to go down to the corner grocery store and buy a sour dough roll for .08., .25 worth of salami and .16 for a 16oz. Pepsi, and sometimes a .10 bag of chips. So I had lunch for about .60.

I lived in San Francisco, so I would go to the Zoo, Tea Garden and Academy of Science for FREE!!!!!. Now the Academy charges about $25.00. and the rest also charge.

My Mom said the rent on our flat was only about $350 a month.

I bought my first car a 66 Mustang in about l967 or 68 for $2400.

Those were the good days, never to return again.

Wages were a lot less then, so I guess it's all in perspective.

Yes, but wages were dirt cheap too.

When I got out of the military and got a civilian job, gasoline was about 30 cents a gallon. It is now about eight times that, but I make 20 times as much money as I did then. So I'm ahead.
