What can I use to scan a TPS on a GMC Safari 94?

Or just visually checking to see if its failed.

When you say TPS are you referring to the Throttle Position Sensor? If so you can just take a regular hand held volt meter and probe into the +/- wires and read the voltage. Should be some where around .97 or so.

either an OBD I scan tool or as the other gentleman said.

back probe the wires. with no pressure on the peddle should be between .5 and .6 volts. then slowly work the throttle and look for a gradual change in voltage. u should do it with the key on engine off.

need a scan tool or go to some Auto Zones and they may check for free.
