    正確的說法應是:

    How are things with you? 近況如何?

    這是一種打招呼的方式

    近況如何?

    跟親友見面打招呼,最「規矩」的問候語是How are you?

    或How is everything? 或How have you been?或How are you getting on?

    意思都是「近況如何?」

    回答一般是Fine,think you.﹝很好,謝謝。﹞Think you當然可改做thinks,

    只是語氣稍稍沒有那麼莊重。

    有時候你聽到的並不是這些「規矩」的客套語,

    而是熟朋友之間較隨便的招呼:How’s life?或How’s life treating you?

    或How’s are things with you?意思也是「近況如何?」

    回答可以是Not too bad,thinks.﹝還不錯,謝謝。﹞

    或鄙俗一點的Can’t complain,you know.﹝沒什麼可抱怨的。﹞

    當然也可以說Everything is fine/cool.﹝一切都很好。﹞

    假如要說近況普普通通,可以簡單說:Fair to midding.﹝還不太差﹞、

    So-So.﹝馬馬虎虎﹞、Could be worse.﹝幸而沒有更差一點﹞、

    Some as usual/always.﹝還是那樣子。﹞

    要說近況不怎麼好,可說:Not(so/too) good.、Not(so/too) well.、

    Not(so/too) hot.、Nono too great.等。Crummy﹝很糟﹞

    Lousy﹝很差﹞則是俚語。

    還有較隨便的問候語,是問「近來有什麼新發展?」

    最常見的是What’s now?或What’s up?或俚俗一點的What’s happening?

    或What’s going on?可以用簡簡單單的兩個字回答:

    Not Much.﹝沒什麼新發展。﹞
