French - why do you say quinze jours when you mean 14 days?
And what do you say when you really want to meet someone in 15 days and not 14? seize? :p

It's very simple to explain ;)
you are Monday and you want meet again in 2 weeks on Monday:
The day present is day 1 (and not day 0, we don't have day 0 even for birth)
Thursday : 4
Friday : 5
Sunday : 7
Tuesday : 9
Wednesday : 10
Thursday : 11
Friday : 12
Sunday : 14
and Monday will be effectively the 15th day ;)

I have often wondered.
Another peculiarity: in the old days, when firing a domestic employee required a week's notice, the employer would say: "je vous donne vos huit (8) jours! " When he/she should have said:" je vous donne vos sept (7) jours".
Back to your question: we usually say: On se voit le (date).
