Historical Biblical Reliability?
I would like SINCERE answers please about evidence supporting biblical reliability. Internet links would be appreciated. Or responses against these new secular biblical critics like Bart Ehrman. Thanks! (oh and please no links to website that try and disprove the bible because i am in no mood to debate! Sorry!)

Before one can sum-up God's word, they have to know it and be able to show that they know it Genesis to Revelation, and encourage others to do so, taking in the word is taking in the holy spirit, all of it comes forth to us by the holy spirit, even the begats that so few people even believe in. God gives us all but the day and hour that he alone knows. I believe it all, as I find nothing wrong with history, this is the bible as literal as it gets. Heb.11:1-40; 12:1,2; Acts 7:1-60, many trust in God's truth.Source(s): Bible.

Well recent findings have been great to support the reliability of the Bible, especially in the Old Testament.
The recent discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls (200-100 B.C.) has been very helpful, as it has about a 1,000 year difference between the only other Hebrew writings we have from the Masoritic Text (A.D 500-1000).
The differences between the two texts are extremely minimal. There may be some extremely minor word changes-that of which only a scholar would notice, -these word changes do not alter the text in any way. Its like saying-The bird looked in many ways like a chicken, and The bird looked kind of like a chicken. We get the point, just a slight difference in wording and doesn't change the meaning. And this is 1,000 years time, if a thousand years can remain accurate-then the reliability is relatively certain.
This is all due to the copying process they used-now many people like to use the telephone example of how things get messed up. This is not a good example, the scribes-or the copiers of the Old Testament were extremely careful in their writing, they had to memorize passages, but they didn't just remember them on their own, the Hebrew language is set up so that you can use the consonants of the word to help you remember the oral tradition. Yes from an outside source you wouldn't understand this sentance: t s nt hrd t mmrz wth nl cnsnnts: it is not hard to memorize with only consonants. But now that you know the sentence you can figure it out. And when memorizing it is all you've been trained to do for your entire life and you have people who've memorized it as well watching over you, you can bet you will be accurate...
However the New Testament is all the more stunning. Most of the texts can be dated from 50-100 AD. That's relatively 20-70 years after Christ's death. Given the age of Christ (30-33) and the possible age ranges of the apostles, they very well could have been younger than him as men were considered men by age 13-15 or so...in reality many of the Apostles could have very easily have dictated and/or corrected any of the mistakes in the Gospels at that time, and their first generation of disciples could have quickly learned and deciphered the story to others, very little can change within 20 to 30 years because of that.
"There are over 5,300 known ancient Greek manuscript copies (MSS) and fragments of the New Testament in Greek that have survived until today.
Counting an additional 10,000 Latin Vulgate and over 9,300 other early manuscript versions in Syriac, Coptic, Armenian, Gothic, and Ethiopic, totaling over 24,000 surviving manuscripts of the New Testament.
Small changes and variations in manuscripts affect none of the central Christian doctrines, nor do they change the message.
Tertullian stated that by 150 A.D., the Church in Rome had compiled a list of the New Testament books matching our list of today.
We have 32,000 quotes from before 325 AD, from Irenaeus (182-188 AD), Justin Martyr (before 150 AD), Polycarp (107 AD), Ignatius (100), Clement (96 AD) and many other second and third century fathers. All but eleven verses of the New Testament could be reconstructed through their writings alone.
The Muratonian Canon Fragment dating from 170 AD lists the same New Testament that we have."Source(s): http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/266 http://www.windmillministries.org/CH9-2.htm http://biblefacts.org/history/oldtext.html#P64 http://protestantism.suite101.com/article.cfm/dati...

Absolutely it's historically accurate. That's something the critics will not acknowledge
There has been more than ample evidence found to support its historicity even while others have scoffed.
#1 - Sodom & Gomorrah. Of course the existence and destruction of those cities has been disputed, therefore casting a shdow on the bible. And yet, archaeologists have recently find a location they believe to have been the site of those two ancient cities. Not only that there's evidence of some sort of fiery destruction.
#2 - The existence of Pontius Pilate was also a point of criticism. But, in 1961 a team of Italian archaeologists found evidence of HIS existence.
#3 - The bible prophecied the name of the man (well one of two) who would bring down the great Babylonian empoire. Cyrus the Mede. That is historically accurate.
The fact is that bible critics say it's vague and inaccurate... a fairy tale. However, fairy tales begin with "a long time ago, in a land far far away", while the bible will give you specific years and names that can easily be verified by secular history.

This Documentary argument is disingenuous because of the fact maximum of historic manuscripts have been the two detroyed or only no longer re-copied greater by technique of the nascent Church while it acheived administration of the state. in addition to, all of us comprehend, working example, that together as Homer is geographically precise, and a brilliant conflict became fought while and the place he claimed it became (owing to archeological data), that doesn't somewhat present stable data for the life of Zeus or Hera. Likewise, we would settle for Ceasar's account of his militia strikes in the Gallic Wars, we dismiss his written claims that he became descended from the Goddess Venus, and those writings that let us know the Senate effectively known his transformation right into a divinity after his loss of existence. The question of the accuracy of the bible isn't approximately historic places or battles or activities, yet particularly the supernatural claims that accompany them. only because of the fact J. ok. Rowling effectively describes some element of existence in cutting-area-day London does no longer advise that Harry Potter is genuine and is analyzing to be a Wizard at Hogwarts.

I don't know of anyone who cites the Bible as historically reliable. However, I'm willing to examine any testable evidence.
And asking people who think the Bible is historically credible (most likely Christians) to post links evidencing such is like asking doctors who work for a tobacco company to give you a report on the health benefits of smoking.
