Calculate the total distance a sound wave travels in air at STP in 3.00 seconds.

Speed of sound at STP is different than speed of sound at 20C
(which is where the answer for wikipedia has 343 m/s)
Speed of sound at STP (0 C) is 331.4 m/s or 742.03 mi/hr
after 3 seconds it is 331.4 m/s = 994 .2 meters traveled
742.03 mph = 1087.3 ft/sec
in mph 3 * 742.03 mph = 3,262 feet traveled

Speed of sound at sea level is about 343 m/s if I remember correctly from physics class.
343 m/s * 3.00 seconds = 1069 meters, or 1070 with sig figs.
