How do I make a fabric & foam costume sturdier?
I am making a dog costume. The base is a hoodie and then I am attaching foam pieces to it. Most of the foam pieces are working perfectly just by attaching using velcro.
I have one piece that needs more support, it's the piece that comes off of the dog's chest and should be going straight forward, but instead it is just falling flat(eh, gravity.) Aside from not looking right, it is impairing my dog's ability to walk in the costume. How can I brace the piece so that it'll stay out straight? The zipper runs up the center of the chest, so the piece definitely needs to be removable & able to be connected after the hoodie is on the dog.
Thanks in advance!

try getting very stiff interfacing. JoAnn has it behind the cutting counter.
