WHY DID OBAMA WIN THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE?

I did not understand that, what did Obama do to deserve such honor?Did he live and died for hungry kids like Mother Theresa? Did he go all around of the world ceasing wars, and sending a message of Peace like pope John Paul II, Did he fight for rights like Nelson Madella? Obviously not, I think all this is total BS Obama did not deserve that prize now tell me why did you think he got it, and what made him deserve such honor?

Update:

    It was pure racism.

Did you hear, the deadline for nominations was only 12 days after Obama took office. So, whatever he did to deserve the NPP, he did it in his first 12 days.

Do you remember Obama doing ANYTHING in his first 12 days besides make speeches and have meetings????

But the Nobel committee said he did something in those 12 days to achieve world peace.

Are you buying ANY of that???

Someone says he made a speech. ONE speech.

OK, who achieves world peace with just ONE speech????

Whoever thinks that is probably shopping for some oceanfront property in Kansas...

Obama actually won the Nobel Peace Prize for his attempts to create peace in the Middle East, as well as give America hope. Jimmy Carter got the prize for similar reasons, when he initiated a talk between Egypt and Israel. I don't find it odd that you don't know. It simply means you have a life, and do not sit reading news articles all the time, and that you are a busy and active citizen.

Well, we know YOU weren't nominated.

We know he opened whole new avenues of communications.

We know the lying propaganda scum who keep reiterating their insane, slimy delusion that he and all "godless liberals" supposedly

"hate America" is a filthy, degenerate lie.

We know he has some vision, which must seem refreshing after eight years of total incompetence and lack of any kind of insight or sensible world view.

And he has at least talked about bringing peace to Iraq.

Why don't you read what the Committee said? Then you wouldn't be so totally ill-informed and erroneous.

Seems to me the suckers up and kisser of butt are the depraved slime of the neo-Nazi right, who are using this tremendous morale boost and victory as some kind of "wedge" issue, just as those sleaze balls do EVERYTHING that happens. They're the turncoats, traitors, and demented ones.

Maybe you should fly to Norway and ask. Oslo is on the West Coast of Norway. Just ask.

Despite your desire to believe it's BS, you seem to have a lack of understanding about the Nobel Peace Prize. It is not only given to those who have completed great accomplishments. It is also given for the reason it was given to Obama. If you read the Nobel statement that they gave with the award it's quite clear. It is for his EFFORTS to halt any further nuclear proliferation, his EFFORTS to change our horribly damaged relationships with other nations of the world, and his EFFORTS to communicate to the world that the United States is entering a new era of diplomacy in which we work with the world instead of acting aggressively without need on our own with no consideration of the concerns of our Allies.

This is crystal clear. If you would only have stopped to read the actual statement itself you would never have had to ask this question. But it's not really a question anyway is it? Just an opportunity to whine about Obama and insult him.

The Nobel Peace Prize for 2009

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama's initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population.

For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that "Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges."

This is a political ploy to get the US to leave Afghanistan and join the rest of the "world government" crowd. The US is the only country left that still allows individual freedom and liberty. The world must stop this in order to subjugate the population into one manipulable mass of completely controlled subjects. There will soon be no middle class. There will only be the "controlled" and the "controllers". Sound attractive to you?

    The Fox and the Grapes

ONE hot summer’s day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. “Just the things to quench my thirst,” quoth he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give it up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying: “I am sure they are sour.”

Why, he's given the Euro-weenies just exactly what they wanted! Now we have a United States with a weaker presence in world affairs! Russia and China are striving for military domination. Obama backs off the American promise of a shield against Iran's missiles for Eastern Europe. Then we have the Arab states reportedly working to replace the dollar as the petroleum trading currency. Today there are suggestions that Obama is just going to declare that the Taliban are too entrenched in Afghanistan for us to possibly prevail there - a prelude to a cut and run. Does any of this sound like a projection of strength? Of course not. America is projecting feel-good, hopey-changey weakness at every turn.

This was a message to Obama. Europe likes your style. You're giving us exactly what we wanted --- what we asked for. You're weakening the United States; for us, the key to peace.

I think it is to try to manipulate US foreign policy. To shame Obama for even thinking about sending more troops to afghanistan and to pressure him to completely pull out of there and Iraq. Their explanation afterall is about FUTURE world peace. It is all politics. That is the best theory I have heard all day, anyway
