Obama's sorry attempt at diplomacy caused us to lose. He spent 3 months apologizing to the world for how arrogant, intolerant and stupid a country we were, in hopes that he would win over our adversaries. Newsflash...it didn't work, actually it had the opposite effect. Even the IOC must have thought, "Hell, he doesn't even believe in his country, why should we?"

No because at least a year ago the delegates of IOC decided they wanted the games to be in Rio de Janeiro as the appeal of hosting the games for the 1st time ever in South America was too much to pass up. This was a done decision delegates from Africa and rest of developing world countries wanted Olympics in a country other then Europe, Japan or USA.

Also the USA was the only country that was not going to guarantee funding for the Olympics to make up funding shortfalls. This is not a bad thing as the government of UK was forced to pump billions in pounds to help make up funding shortfalls in the 2012 London games.

This was the same reason why 2012 NYC Olympic game bid failed as well as city voters rejected idea of a public funded Olympic Stadium.

Do you really want Uncle Sam to be stuck with the bill? So we told the IOC no US was not going to guarantee debt like government of Brazil is.

That was real reason along with like idea of 1st South American games was too much to pass up. Also Brazil is going to be hosting 2014 World Cup and will all-ready have a permanent Olympic Stadium. Chicago was going with a smaller temporary Olympic Stadium an idea the IOC hated, as they like their Olympic Stadiums to be an important landscape of city as the Colosseum is to Rome.

No, we won by not being burdened with the Olympic games.

Some countries may benefit from hosting the games, but they would be an unnecessary tax burden on Chicago and provide limited advantages. The city is already famous, a tourist and business destination and has a well-developed infrastructure. What advantage do the Olympic games offer Chicago?

If you want to ask why Obama failed to bring the games to Chicago, then you are right, he failed in a political contest. let's be glad he did.

The President shouldn't even be involved in the process. It should be left in the hands of the Mayor and the Vice President. That is what Vice President's do, attend ceremonies of little significance so the President can concentrate on meaningful work. It seems Obama has his priorities out of order again.

Who's fault? The Community Organizer that only has to look toward Mecca in order to make sure that all is well.

The US became a loser on the fourth of November 2008 when we got this guy who teleprompter reads.

    Chicago 2016 Olympic Games
