ANN RICE!!!! The Vampire Chronicles. Although not what you would generally call romance, the way every emotion of the conflicted immortals, namely the shameless Le Stat, the morally haunted Loius, the Eternally Innocent Armond, and the mysterious father-like figure of Marius. Not to mention the all too brief raw passion of the child-vampire Claudia. While the movie Interview with a Vampire starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt lived up to expectations, the Queen of the Damned movie was a sorry excuse for a knock off, and barley attempted to follow the plot of it's respective novel. But weather you've seen either of the movies or not, even if you're already familiar with the vampire chronicles, take my word for it, if you read these books, you will not be disappointed. As far as romance goes, the best one of the series to read would definatley be the Vampire Armond, but it's like the 5th or 6th, and it's probably better to read them in order.

Definitely Anne Rice 'The vampire Lestat'

It's sooo good, Twilight is good but 'The vampire Lestat' makes it look like fledglings play.
