Chinatown
The Pianist
Repulsion
Ninth Gate
Rosemary's Baby
Fearless Vampire Killers...
Oliver Twist
I loved those all dearly. Polanski always reminded me, directing-wise, of John Cassavetes. he makes very Real films, but there is always something not quite kosher that just makes a lot of his movies quite inaccessible for some people, don't know what it is.

Damn, now I feel uncultured. :P My friend has been telling me how profoundly scary (but in an unconventional way) The Tenant is... so I have to see that, but you rank 9 of his even higher... I've heard of the Pianist, Rosmary's Baby, and Oliver Twist... I can't remember if I've seen The Pianist or not... probably not if I'm not sure.
Jeez, anyway... I have to fill this gaping hole in my film knowledge, I go see and rent tons of movies, I would have thought I'd have seen Polanski's stuff by now.

I thought the pianist was brilliant, but to be honest I gotta disagree about the ninth gate, The acting was good, I just found the movie boring
