describe Negative Space? (ART)?
can you please describe 'negative space' in 2-3 sentences. please?

Negative space is the area around any object, it's the space that circles an object. If you were to only draw negative space you would draw the outline of each individual part and piece of an object, you'd eventually come up with the replica of the object in your picture, indistinguishable from the pictures done by artists that draw the object instead of the space around it. Utilizing negative space is one of multiple ways to get correct proportion for an image.Source(s): 20+ odd years as a multiple media artist.

Negative Space in art it any area on the page that is left blank. Cropping and zooming in on an area to take up more space on the page works to fix it. You can also make some sort of background.Source(s): art class

Clever, but I don't think that's a very good example of negative space. Yep, Dean below has got it. I wanted to suggest something like that, but couldn't explain it.
