What animals are native to North America?

I'm helping my little sister with her school project and we need to know five animals that are specifically native to North America.

Please only animals that are native to only N.A.

Thanx so much!

Bobcat, bald eagle, American bison, American alligator, eastern diamondback rattlesnake, elk, American black bear, woodchuck (also called groundhog), mountain beaver, American beaver, North American porcupine, Canadian lynx, coyote, kit fox, swift fox, common raccoon, black-footed ferret, fisher, American badger, striped skunk, North American river otter, mule deer, pronghorn.

Sorry nurnord, but you're mistaken about the Kodiak bear, grizzly bear and cougar. The Kodiak and grizzly are subspecies of the brown bear, which is also found in Europe and Asia. Whilst those subspecies are only found in North America, the species itself is more widespread. Cougars are found throughout Central and South America as well as North America.

Uhm, Buffalo is just another name for the America Bison. And the Bison itslef is not native to North America, having come from Eurasia accross the Bearing Strait about 10,000 years ago.

How about five of the largest that are SPECIFIC to N. America ?

American Bison, Kodiak Bear, Grizzly Bear, American Black Bear, Cougar.

I omitted the Polar Bear, Walrus and Moose because they live elsewhere and are not specific to N. America.
