The late author Nathan Miller wrote a book entitled: "Star-Spangled Men: America's Ten Worst Presidents.'
In the prologue, he lists them in the order of their worstness, from the poor to horrid.
. Jimmy Carter - who showed that the White House is not the place for on-the-job training.
William Howard Taft - who was so fat he got stuck in a White House bathtub
Benjamin Harrison - who looked like a medieval gnome and had a handshake like a 'wilted petunia.'
Calvin Coolidge - who was a living embodiment of Woody Allen's observation that '80% of success is showing up.'
Ulysses Simpson Grant - who proves that old soliders should fade away rather than go to the White House.
Andrew Johnson, who declared 'I am right' about Reconstruction - but was wrong.
Franklin Pierce, who said (after losing re-nomination for a second term) "There's nothing left...but to get drunk,' and promptly did so.
James Buchanan - who was on the government payroll for 40 years and never had an original idea.
Warren Gamaliel Harding - who gave being 'in the closet' a new meaning (i.e. his mistresses Carrie Phillips, Nan Britton etc...)
Richard Milhous Nixon, who maintained, "I am not a crook,' but was.
and I think, most of us will agree that George W. Bush should top the list!
I heartily recommend this book!Source(s): Star-Spangled Men: America's 10 Worst Presidents by Nathan Miller, 1998 by Scribner Publishers I am also a Presidential Historian

Buchanan is tough to beat. He declared war on Utah (which was a state of the union by then).
Andrew Johnson was the first president to be impeached. And he was impeached by his own party. Just like Obama will be.
Buchanan and Andrew Johnson are neck-and-neck for the title of worst ever, according to historians.
The third worst spot is currently held by George W. Bush.
But Obama is closing in fast, so Bush better enjoy it while it lasts.
Obama could equal Andrew Johnson by the time he gets impeached. If he gets actually removed from office, he will be in direct competition with Buchanan.
And with all the disastrous things Obama has done in only 8 months, it is not at all inconceivable that he will find some way to top declaring war on Utah.

Obama is off to a really bad start, but I would not judge him this early. Number one in anyone's book who is not blind to either party has to be the laughable Jimmy Carter. He was a disgrace to the office and still comes out of the shadows now and then to make a bigger idiot of himself. He is so far out in front for the worst it is just too difficult to say who would be second to this moron.

I think we're remembered for our great Presidents.
And we'll have one in 2012.
1. Woodrow Wilson, Dem (The Income Tax, Allowed Millions to Die in WW2 Before He Entered the War, The Federal Reserve)
2. Franklin Roosevelt, Dem (extended the Great Depression for almost a century, used socialist economics)
3. Jimmy Carter, Dem (terrible foreign relations, 21% inflation, obamas idol).

I totally consider Muinghan. yet i'm going to upload right here that the Reagan vast call Wars software (SDI) could've ruined usa, if Gorbachev did no longer pull the plug on the Soviet - American family. Carter grow to be a do-gooder yet his distant places coverage - tall on delivers & short on transport - grow to be a catastrophe. He grow to be a life like guy (unlike maximum presidents) & a "life like guy can no longer gain something".

Buchanan, Harding, and Carter.
Too early to judge President Obama, good or bad.

It depends on whether or not the country survives Obama. But the History Channel had some unkind words for Buchanan, Harding, and Nixon.
Catwoman- you quoted my answer to "How will Obama be remembered?" Thanks, I feel honored.
