    Quality and price.

Some leagues specify the standard of ball that is to be used. Obviously, the higher the standard of ball, the more expensive.

Why train with an expensive ball?

    Quality, price, and materials.

A training ball has a thicker outer layer that is softer, the bladder is ok, they usually have good air retention. Supposed to be durable for training sessions.

A match ball has a thinner harder outer layer. They are usually thermal bonded and are easier to play with, make curl ect.. Its just a much better playing experience if your using a top ball. They don't hold air as well because they are only ment to be used for games.
