Humans are Homo sapiens.
We are in the Domain Eukarya because the cells in our body our Eukaryotic cells.
We are in the Kingdom Animalia because we are animals.
We are in the Phylum Chordata because we are chordates. Not all chordates have a backbone, but all animals with a backbone are chordates.
We are in the Class Mammalia because we are mammals. All mammals have hair or fur, can produce milk with mammary glands (breasts), and other characteristics.
We are in the Order Primates. Other primates are chimpanzees, gorillas, monkeys, lemurs, tarsiers, and other similar animals.
We are in the Family Hominidae which are the Great Apes. This includes chimpanzees, gorillas, humans, and orangutans. It also excludes extinct species like Neanderthals.
There are many other species in this genus, such as Homo erectus and Homo habilis All other species in the genus Homo are extinct except for us.
Species: sapiens That's just us and only us!!
