How can I get my laptop to ask me for my password everytime I open the lid again?

I am using Windows vista on a Sony Vaio CS series laptop

Go into the power options and set it to go to sleep when you close the lid. Enable the option to ask for password on wake up, and there you go.

This should be in your power options.

Start > Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what closing the lid does
