Isn't interesting how most religions are fairly tolerant of each other?

This will likely come as a suprise to many of you, especially regulars... ^_^... but polls say that, in most religions, more than half (and often up to 75-80%) of religious believers think that their religion is NOT the only true religion:

(click on beliefs and practices, the statistic for religious tolerance is all the way at the bottom)

Even in evangelical churches 57% of believers do not think that their religion is the only way to salvation. Mainline churches, Orthodox, and Catholic churches all have about three out of four people believing their religion to not be the only true one. Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus are also similar. 82% of Jews do not believe that their religion is the only truth.

It seems that average religious people in society are usually very tolerant of each other.

What is your opinion on this?

    My Opinion?

Just another example where a handful of noisy hate monger bigots spoiling things for everyone.

We need to recognise the tactics these Bigots use to spread their hatred - it defuses their power.
