it is allowed if you are on a tourist visa, no prpblem especially you are in Langkawi, 90% of Langkawi's income comes from tourism, the police won't bother you

a few times i rented a car there, the car don't even have a road tax, there was police road block and the police just let me go, why? because it is a rented car, really no problem

No problem to rent a car in Langkawi (Malaysia) if you have the means to pay in cash.

An international driving license issued by your home country is a requirement to drive in Malaysia.

  • Have it converted into a India International driving license at your local traffic office (or where ever you get you driving license).

Otherwise, sweet talk the rental company into renting you one but pray that you don't get into trouble,

If you can convert your driving license. You can rent a car with driver. Else just take taxi.
