世界各航空公司的飛行員培訓計劃一問? (20點)

我想問下除左國泰, 以及港龍的飛行員培訓計劃外,

仲有冇咩航空公司有類似的培訓計劃可以適合香港人(持英藉護照)參加?

航空公司地點不限, eg:可以在澳洲, 英國, 歐洲 and 大陸!

費用大約需要多少, 面試過程又是怎樣的?

對視力, 身體和學歷要求如何?

面試的成功率又是如何呢?

如有超過一間, 請逐一列明!

那若果我是持英藉護照, 那我可否參加歐盟國家的航空公司的培訓計劃(如:芬蘭航空)?

因為據我所知, 持英藉護照(有居英權)是可以在歐盟中任何一個國家生活並獲得福利!

若果我要參加其它國家(非香港)的航空公司, 那我可以透過甚麼方法申請呢?

我想知道更多相關事項, 又有甚麼網頁or書籍可以提供?

最後, 若果我在英航受訓, 完成訓練後是否一定要在英航工作?

仲有, 若果我係Aviation School讀完, 考晒民航機師所需執照, but 我冇1000 hours fixed wing, 咁我可以去邊度做機師?

又或者我點先可以累積到1000 hours 飛行時數?

    There are many, basically all airline would train their own pilot, this is the major source of their man power. You cannot count on people have ATPL license will work for your airline, so most company will need to train their staff, ground up.

    However, most of those company will only hire people with respective to their citizens (British Company(eg BA) hire British Citizens and Australian Company (eg Qantas) hire Australian Citizens. So for you, if you have HK and British Passport (Non-BNO) you can consider either HK or British Company.

    Also, 1 thing you need to aware, don't just try to join some big airline (Such as Virgin, BA, Cathay Pacific or some big name) regional airline put twice as much resource to train staff from ground up and they are very easy to get into.

    Usually there are 3 step interview.

    1.) Telephone Interview or Resume Selection - Pre-selection, usually will ask you some personal question and some recents work history, if you have pilot license, then when and where and so on.. Pre-selection info.

    2.) Group interview - If you seems like what they want, they will ask you to a group interview, main objective is to see how you interact with others and how you lead the situation. Group discussion can be from personal topic (What you like and why) to political agenda (What happening in the world)

    3.) Individual interview - WHen you are exactly what they like, you will enter this step, into this mean you have half or your foot in the pilot training program. They may give you a test and maybe ask you a series of question. Do prepare this cos you can still fail...

    There are many, there are over 100 trading airline/cargo haulage company in UK and Australia alone. I simply cannot list them all.

    Most country require 20/20 corrected vision and university degree. Also to work as a pilot, you cannot have heart diease nor seizure (epileptic)

    However, some people with only High School Qualification seems to pass though from time to time.

    If you are a EU Citizens you can technically work in any EU Country without visa. But, most EU Country have their own perference.

    For example, if you want to work in FinAir, you must know how to speak Finnish. And Finair will hire People from Finland (Their own) first. Then EU Citizens(With Swedish and Norway over other EU, they are nordic council member) , then oversea citizens.

    You can live in Any EU State and work, but you cannot collect benefit in any EU state except UK, i am also an UK and Swedish Citizens, i cannot collect benefit in Finland when i was there 3 years ago. EU free movement does not include Benefit....

    How's your english? First, you must write to them in English, then they will select you, if you did not get a call back for interview (the 3 stages i mentioned earlier), then better luck next year.......

    If you get a call back, then you progress to stage two. There aren't any walk in for pilot or crew cadet scheme. You must look for it yourselve.

    There aren't any, there are many for learn to fly, but there aren't enough books for how to find a job yourselve....

    Just make sure you know the company pretty well, do good in interview and this is the only gurantee way to succeed.

    Usually if you are that lucky to get in their trainee program, you will need to sign a contract to work for them in how many year (THey determine how many year) After you graduate, you will be bound to work for them for the determined time.

    Usually you cannot get out of it until you serve all the time, if you do get out of it, you may be liable to repay all training expense with penality. Usual time for contract for a pilot is 5 years.

    I don't know about HK ATPL requirment, but in Australia (Where i got my pilot license) you need to get 1600 flight hours in COMMAND and in jet to get ATPL.

    That 1000 hours of what you said should be also in command (Mean you are flying with another pilot/student pilot) Not all of those 250 hours CPL are in command hours, only those in command counted.

    Also, not all hours in CPL are flying Jet, so it may not count the hours not in command or not in jet.

    You cannot get ATPL if you fly less than 1000 hours, this is ICAO requirment, diffrent country will have different rules (in UK, you need 2500 + hours, in Australia, you need 1600 + hours)

    3 ways to accumlate flight hours

    1.) Get an instructor license/rating and teach people how to fly. That way you and him both earn hours

    **** Wrong. If you are talking about ATPL, where is the sim test? if you are talking about cadet pilot, NOT all airlines would have.

    **** Nonsense. This is NOT a lucky draw/mark six draw. candidates DON'T have equal opportunities due to their personal attributes/ability etc....

    **** The requirement should be CLASS 1 MEDICAL. there are OTHER requirements (hearing, eye-hand coordination etc...)

    **** Technically, there is NO cadet pilot in Finnair. REMEMBER the proposer was asking CADET PILOT.

    **** CX's requirement is min 1000hrs JET. experience commensurate with age.
