Please ask Obama, he is our Chevy Man. Not? UAW, they have real answers for you. Funny you lack money, Obama can supply you with real money, as long as you say you are a big one, just say it, you will get relief from Obama and his team! poor? You shall certainly remain so, or worse. luv serSource(s): ASE master certified tech

The only things that don't interchange between the 305 and 350 are the block and pistons. That said, other things from a 305 that will bolt down on a 350 are just not going to work. Heads are a great example. 305 heads have 1.84" intake valves and tiny chambers that will kill the airflow on a 350. Inversely, puting 350 heads on a 305 will sh*t-can your compression (down into the high 7s) so that won't work either. 350 heads have 1.94" intakes and performance heads have 2.02" intakes and bigger exhaust valves as well. You didn't mention if you're keeping the TPI or not. Personally I wouldn't, but your budget might require it. If you do, you'll have to re-chip the computer. The most effective way is to save some money and buy a "crate motor" that's built with parts that will work together out of the box. The manufacturer can give you suggestions on headers, exhaust and the rest. Good luck.

Everything but the block itself and the pistons/rings is exactly the same. The two blocks will both bolt in place of each other but the bore sizes are different. You can use the 305 heads on a 350 and it will increase the compression, but it will run out of breath at about 4500 rpm. Really need some better heads. Valve covers, timing cover/timing set, distributor, oil pan, oil pump, cam, lifters, headers or exhaust manifolds, and intake manifold, crankshaft, and rods all interchange with both engines. Should be able to use your rocker arms and pushrods from the 305 too.

Intakes headers, heads, camshafts, water pump, oil pump, pan, distributor .......
about the only thing that doesn't interchange would be crank , rods and pistons..
