When you file a weekly unemployment claim is the date you select the day the week started or when it ended?

You file an unemployment claim after the week has ended because by that time you know if you have worked or were able/available for work. You will not be able to file a claim unless a sufficient period of time has passed. Some states have a one week waiting period. You are then eligible to file a claim every two weeks. Your claim will not be accepted if you try to file too soon.

RTFM. The instructions should explain how they identify the claim week that you are filing for.
Most states begin the week on Sunday and end it on Saturday, but you have to read the instructions to be sure how your state handles it.
