Did you cut the skin on the bottoms? try boiling them for a little longer. Sometimes if they aren't completely ripe, they don't peel super easy.

    2 schools of thought.

    1. Was the water boiling when you added the peaches?

    2. Did you "shock" the peaches by putting them in ICE cold water.

To shock peaches, apples or any other fruit and veggie. Let water come to rapid boil. Add your produce (small amounts at a time) when water starts to boil again, app 3-5 minutes. Remove with slotted spoon and drop right into ice water. This works great for keeping veggies bright and fresh looking. And when all else fails I like to use the old tried and true hand peeler.

If they are not really dead ripe, it might take more than a quick dip to get the skins off.

I skip that anyway, and just peel them.
