Does Lemon Pledge keep spiders away?

I've read this in a few places and I live in the woods by a lake. The spiders don't seem like there hurting anything but ive never been bit yet. I dont want to spray a pesticide with a baby in the house so im wondering if anyone has ever tried lemon pledge. I read that it works but I dont want the sweet smell to attract more spiders. Anybody tried it?

I use Lemon Pledge on all of my cupboards, coffee tables, etc. I still have to go around once a week and knock down the spider webs, so I would say this Urban Myth is Busted.

It does work, but is only marginal and temporary. it makes a better

    furniture polish.

I doubt the spiders will be any problem, and just routine cleaning

with a vacuum and maybe some sticky traps will keep them under

    control.

This is autumn and spiders are very active. this is as bad as they

    will likely get.
