Anyone know of a good sci-fi anime based on life, space, universe etc.?

I recently watched an anime ,it was about students lost in space and went to another planet, and it was really interesting(uninhabited planet survive). Now I'm done and I feel like watching again.

So any of you know of a good anime?

Something that involves,space,universe,aliens,sci-fi, mystery /puzzle,adventure,science discovery,etc.

I don't really want the action kind, like maybe gundum seed.but you can include that.

But just tell me all the anime you know.thanks.

well action is good too,but mostly i dont like it(ex.gundam seed just shoot shoot shoott)lol

but thanks ill try these out.

It's hard trying to avoid the action label with sci-fi /space shows. I found a few though.

    PlanetES -

    Kaiba -

Kaiba is a one of a kind show (if the animation is anything to go by.) Worth a look

    Uchuu no Stellvia -

    Dennou coil -

For some reason this show reminded me uninhabited planet. The setting is quite different, and they aren't in space, but i think you would enjoy it.

    Anyways yeah check those out.

EDIT: in that case be sure to check out Cowboy Bebop. It's possibly the best space/sci-fi show in existence.

I agree with the below users recommendation for. Vandread (season 1 and 2) both great excellent sci-fi's.

Outlaw Star is one of my favorites as well. Doesn't rank as high as Cowboy Bebop, but if you like one you will probably like the other.

I've raved all over the internet about "Project Blue Earth S.O.S." It has a retro-style look and feel. Remember how sf movies of the 50's imagined how the 21st century would be like? That's what this one does! The story centers on two boy geniuses who start out as rivals, but quickly learn to work together to defend the Earth from extraterrestrial invasion. I call it "Jonny Quest meets the Thunderbirds to fight the War of the Worlds." But it isn't campy. They play it wonderfully straight. It's brilliantly animated, with gorgeous visuals, an entertaining comic-book style story, and it all wraps up in just 6 episodes.

Planetes, definitely. I recommend this because you mentioned 'life' and this is the one I was impressed by its setting which made it very unique 'life related sci-fi' anime. As well, I grew up watching a large number of animes including sci-fi and, based on it, I declare this is one of the masterpieces for its quality of story, OP&ED, music etc. and for THAT unforgettable ending.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is really really good, so is Akira (a flim, not a series), and apparently Ghost in the Shell is a really good series- i haven't watched it yet though.
