Direct flights to Portugal from Canada are usually from Toronto.
You can try Air Transat ( http://www.airtransat.com/ ) as they fly directly. For cheaper option, I would fly to Newark Airport in the USA and try flying directly with Continental Airlines ( http://www.continental.com/ ) or TAP Airlines ( http://www.flytap.com/USA/en/Homepage/ ) on their direct flights to Portugal. USAirways ( http://www.usairways.com/ ) also offers low cost fares from Philadelphia to Lisbon.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.Source(s): www.BookMe.com

Prices depend on your travel dates and airports.
Finding online the cheapest flight for you is the job of flights brokers/ booking sites. The best ones are listed here: http://www.willgoto.com/1/023798/liens.aspx
Try Cheaptickets.nl for prices in euros, Expedia.ca for airfares in Can $, or Travelocity.com for tickets in US$

funny, i live in Toronto and would DIE to live in portugal.
i just spent 2 months in Portimao and Valpacos (near Chaves), with stops in Lisboa and Oporto.
as for your question - check out SATA (sata.pt), they do direct flights from Oporto to Toronto (and i think montreal)
