What is an engagement session?
What are bridesmaids and the maid of honor? What is a best man or the other guys that stand on the groom's side?
Why does the newly weds cut a cake together? If you don't want your father to "give away the bride" do the groom and bride walk down the isle together?
How much money did you / do you plan to spend on your wedding?

1. An engagement session is an extra photo shoot for just he bride and groom before the wedding. Originally it was used to capture your photo for your announcement, but now a days its just an extra photo opportunity.
Bridemaids are people that are supposed to be witnesses for you during your wedding, or attend to you during your wedding... they're people that are closest to you that you're supposed to honor during your wedding day.. .they take pix with you, stand at the alter with you...wear a gown you pick for them, etc. A Bridesmaid is usually a close friend or sister who takes more of an active part in the wedding experience. They plan your bridal shower, bachelorette party etc. Same goes from the guys with the groom. The best man and maid of honor are also attendants, only they are supposed to be chosen based on their closeness or specialness to you and the groom... usually its a sister, brother or a best friend... the one person who you would want there no matter what.
Originally, the bridesmaids would protect the bride against evil by wearing similar clothing to the bride's attire. This would confuse any "evil spirit" as to who the bride was. (medieval times of course)
I have no idea what the cake ceremony is for... you don't have to do that if you don't want.
You can definitely walk down together if you want... churches usually frown upon it, but it's your day...
My wedding is going to be about $45,000 with 225 guests... that's also in the NYC area. If you're in the south it would probably be only one third of that cost... or less

I would guess an engagement session is when the photographer takes pictures of the bride and groom before the wedding. then they can use the pictures to run in the paper with their engagement announcement.
the bridesmaids, maid of honor, best man and groomsmen are the wedding party. it's the bride and groom's best friends and /or brothers and sisters. it comes from the tradition of having witnesses stand up for you at the wedding to testify they think you should get married and you're of sound mind or something.
if the bride's father doesn't give her away, she can choose any other close male or female in her life. the groom waits at the altar for her, he doesn't escort her down the aisle. the reason being all the guests love to see the look on his face up there when he sees the bride for the first time in her gown coming down the aisle!
I'm not spending more than 5000 on my wedding god willing. I'm gonna have kids to put thru college someday and I gotta buy a house.Source(s): been to 21 weddings and been in 4

Yellow gold....the great of among the white gold alloys in these days is crap (off colour yellowish or brownish) that is why it HAS to be plated with rhodium....except you're shopping a antique property piece while white gold used to be of satisfactory great and now not plated on the grounds that the colour used to be a superb silvery-grey like platinum and the jewellery retailer chains did not need to conceal the inferior colour...additionally, it is a bunk tale while jewellery retailer clerks inform you white gold is yellow gold 'dipped'...or that it discolors or turns colours with put on-it DOESN'T. If it turns colours, it ain't gold or it is the rhodium plating dressed in off and the off colour crap-gold is displaying beneath....

Engagement session is when you take pictures shortly after your engagement to have memories of that time.
