Where does the phrase "she's good people" or "he's good people" originate from?

I was watching a rerun of Medium the other night and one of the characters used the phrase "she's good people", which to me sounds incorrect, but as it was used on the show, I imagine its use is somewhat common in certain places.

    Wherever it came from, I wish it would go back there. I am so sick of that expression.

  • thats been around for a while im from own south dont know if its a south thing but its been around here for as long as i can remember..........
