Am I doing the right thing?

Ive just ended things with a girl that I care a lot about. Ive been thinking about joining the air force because I cant find a job, and the only reason I stayed here was because I didn't want to leave her behind. Im gonna call the recruiter in the morning unless I can find a reason not to do it. Any thoughts?
