girl said she would call?

Question

I asked her out for a cup of coffee at a local coffee shop (not starbucks, but just as good, lol) anyway, i scheduled for wed. evening, and she has a sorority thing going on and that she would call when she's free. Now I'm not accusing her of anything, but in my experience, when a girl says she'll call, she won't. I was thinking of calling her next week, and if it sounds awkward or she ignores me, forget about her. what do you think?
