It varies university to university and course to course. However, generally speaking, you don't get too much homework in the first week.

That depends on the class, professor, and what the course objectives are. Most college work is reading and knowing what you need to learn rather than busy work you were given in high school. Pay attention to your syllabus and you will know what the professor expects.

Generally, no. You may have to do a reading or two, but nothing too major.
