Is it normal to feel frequently lonely?

I get lonely almost every time I'm not around other people. Sometimes I don't even want to do things simply because there is no one to do them with (like certain hobbies I am trying to develop). I have friends and live a pretty normal, good life. But I just feel like I want people around ALL THE TIME. Is this normal? Any suggestions about what I can do to feel better being alone?

yes it is, even when you are around people you get the feeling no one will ever know you and/or understand you completely, like you do (thus feeling lonely).

I would say, don't think about it too much; distract yourself, life can be very beautiful when you stop thinking for a while
