    Pi is spelled as I have written it with just the two letters.

    The formula for the volume of a cone with height=h and whose circular base has a radius=r is as follows

    V=1/3*pi*(r^2)h

    substituting the values specified gives the following

    284.7=1/3*3.14*4*4*h

    284.7=16.74666667*h

    isolating h by dividing both sides of the equation by 16.74666667

    h=284.7/16.74666667

    h=17.00039809

    This is extraordinarily close to 17

    replace the unknows

    284.7=1/3(4x4)h

    284.7=1/3(16)h

    284.7=5.33h

    h=284.7/5.33

    = 53.42
