Pavlov's contribute was the theory of classica conditioning! A technique every human should know. It teaches that every thing has the ability to learn, as long as there are rewarding stimulants that trigger a response.

Classical conditioning and Pavlov's dogs. Dogs naturally salivate when they are given food. But according to Pavlov, if a particular stimulus in the dog’s surrounding is present when the dog is presented with food, then this stimulus would become associated with the food and cause salivation on its own.

Example, if you ring a bell just before giving the dog its meal and keep this up everyday, it will eventually start to salivate by just hearing the sound of the bell. Because bell = food is served. This way, the dog has been conditioned to salivate at the sound of the bell.
