If you want to take 'herbal hormones' you're welcome to; but if you really have money to throw away, wouldn't it be better to give it to a charity?

'Herbal hormones' are snake-oil; they DON'T WORK.

They're a scam, designed to make money from the desperate and the gullible.

The ONLY way for a trans person to achieve the effects they desire is with a properly prescribed and monitored hormone regimen from a Doctor.

Believe me, if there were a cheaper and easier way, we'd ALL be doing it.

All sex hormones (estrogens, progesterone, DHEA and testosterone) are steroids. So are the herbal compounds which are used to replace them.

What kind of hormone replacement therapy do you mean? HRT for menopause? Some plant sterols are similar to human female sex hormones, and have been used to ameliorate the symptoms of menopause. They are not adequately protective against heart attack or osteoporosis. Do you mean HRT for a transgendered person? No, none of the plant sterols are sufficiently similar to induce the desired changes.

    Hi Alex,

Just the fact that you are asking about a herbal hormone replacement therapy, is great.

Diane is clearly unaware of what is available, being a clinical specialist in surgery and anaesthesia. Sounds like she is not very open to knowledge beyond her little world of surgery and drugs. Nothing is worse than to mislead a person asking for help.

Let me tell you that there is a totally natural progesterone, which has benefited countless woman and men, to balance their hormonal systems.

There are added benefits, which include anti-aging, increases body supply of oxygen, improves circulation, improves brain structure and function, helps regulate edema, prevents PMS, promotes pregnancy, increases libido, assistance in the metabolism of fat for energy, increases oxygen to the cells and stimulates bone growth. Progesterone normalizes the immune system and is very effective in autoimmune problems.

Progesterone is a major regulator of estrogen and is the most versatile hormone in the human body. It is very important for both women and men as it causes neither feminization nor masculinization.
