Ahh, mozzies, the little horrors! They're nature's equivalent of the Jonas sisters. Small and annoying!
- Garlic - when you put garlic on a mosquito bite, you should notice immediate relief from the itching. Take a knob off the garlic and cut in half, then rub it into the bite.
- Aloe vera, lime juice or lemon juice also soothe mosquito bites. Use the flesh of the aloe vera, squeeze the juice from the lime or lemon and apply to your bites.
Chamomile lotion can help stop the itching, too.
- There are things you can do to prevent being bitten in the first place. First of all, if you take vitamin B1 and B12 supplements everyday for a fortnight, before you're due to go into a mosquito rife place, it changes the taste of your blood. Mozzies don't like this and they're put off biting you!
- You could also include a lot of B vitamins in your diet. Red meat is the highest source of vitamin B12; the vitamin is only found in meat. Vitamin B1 is found in whole wheat (best source), rice, almonds and groundnut.
Eating plenty of garlic affects the taste of your blood, so it should reduce how much you get bitten. The mosquitos don't like it!
Good look. =D
My next door neighbor's mum is a nurse, she told me the B vitamin info lol. =]
