How long does it take for closing papers?? Buying a house!?

How long does it take after you sign the closing papers to be reviewed and receive the keys to the new home? We will probably be signing tomorrow. Do you think it should be reviewed in time before the weekend?

Funding usually takes a coupla-three business days. Then you do your final walk through and get the keys to your new home. However, the underwriters could find some discrepancy or whatever with the loan docs and require additional information, paperwork, etc. I've heard of funding being delayed for weeks because of the underwriters balking at something or wanting additional documentation from the borrower. But, that's rare. I would expect escrow to close for you early next week.

If you are Pre-Approved then your loan packet is presumed to have passed through the lenders underwriting. After signing docs the home can be funded and recorded in as little as a few hours to a couple of days. Have your title rep call the lender immediately following signing without delay. Then call your lender to let them know you have signed and expect action! Remember they work for you!

It takes just a few days and if all goes as planned you will have the keys to you home before the weekend. Congratulations on your home purchase.
