His albums are kind of rare; but you might want to seek out some music from Rocky Hill. He is the brother of ZZ Top's Dusty Hill, and his music sounds similar to ZZ Top at times. These guys are nothing to do with ZZ Top, but you might also enjoy Dallas' The Old 97s. They aren't really famous, but I don't know why because they are one of the better bands going today. If the World was fair, they'd probably be one of the ten or fifteen most famous bands going right now. But as things are, the biggest thing they've achieved so far is being the night club band in the Vince Vaughn/Jennifer Aniston movie "The Break Up". These guys are not from Texas, but since you seem to like ZZ Top, you might also like the British band Balaam and the Angel's "Live Free or Die" album from about 1987 or 1988. They sound a little like a mix of ZZ Top, AC/DC, and Van Halen all woven into one. A very good album that never became famous for some reason.
