I go with team 2 they have better pitching, but barely they would win 3 to 2. Team 1 has got a little better bats, but I like team 2's starting rotation and pen. Team 1 has the better bench too. I got team 2 though.

    Lineup for Team 1.

    Ichiro

    Nick Markakis

    Albert Pujols

    Ryan Howard

    Evan Longoria

    Ryan Braun

    Ian Kinsler

    Brandon Inge

    Troy Tulowitzki

    Team 2 lineup

    Hanley Ramirez

    Joe Mauer

    Jason Bay

    Prince Fielder

    Mark Reynolds

    Torii Hunter

    Carlos Pena

    Andre Ethier

    Aaron Hill

    Team 1 Starting Lineup

    RF Ichiro

    SS Troy Tuliwitzki

CF Josh Hamilton (Switched for Markakis)

    1B Albert Pujols

    DH: Ryan Howard

    3B Evan Longoria

    C Brandon Inge

    LF Ryan Braun

    2B Ian Kinsler

Bench: Nick Markakis, Mark Derosa, Jarrod Saltalamaccia

    Pitching Rotation:

    1. Roy Halladay

    2. Josh Beckett

    3. Dan Haren

    4. Cliff Lee

    5. Chris Carpenter

    Bull Pen

    Daniel Ray Herrera

    Rafeal Soriano

    J.P Howell

    Andrew Bailey

    Daniel Bard

    Closer: Jonathan Papelbon

    Team 2:

    SS Hanley Ramirez

    RF Andre Eithier

    C Joe Mauer

    1B Prince Fielder

    3B Mark Reynolds

    LF Jason Bay

    CF Torri Hunter

    DH Carlos Pena

    2B Aaron Hill

Bench: Andruw Jones, Ryan Theroit, Taylor Teagarden

    Pitching Rotation:

    1. Tim Lincecum

    2. Zack Grienke

    3. Matt Cain

    4. Johan Santana

    5. Felix Hernandez

    Bullpen:

    Sean Burnett

    Dan Meyer

    David Aardsma

    Neftali Feliz

    Todd Coffey

    Closer: Mariano Rivera

I think Team 1 wins 3 games to 2. Both Papelbon and Rivera will each get 2 saves but in game 4 will be a blowout for Team 1

I would have to go with Team 1, but you would need to adjust the rotation. There is no reason why Beckett would be the ace when there is Doc on the staff.

    Batting Orders

    1 Ichiro

    2 Longoria

    3 Kinsler

    4 Pujols

    5 Howard

    6 Braun

    7 Tuliwitzki

    8 Inge

    9 Markakis

    Team 2

    1 Hill

    2 Bay

    3 Mauer

    4 Fielder

    5 Hunter

    6 Pena

    7 Reynolds

    8 Ramirez

    9 Eithier

    Rotations

    Team 1:

    1 Halladay

    2 Beckett

    3 Lee

    4 Carpenter

    5 Haren

    Team 2:

    1 Lincecum

    2 Grienke

    3 Santana

    4 Cain

    5 Hernandez

I would go with Team #2, they have a good lineup, excellent starting rotation, and most importantl good bullpen with Mariano Riveria to close it out.

Definitely Team 2. In a 5 game series, they win 4 games to 1.

Even though Team 2 has the best starting pitching staff, Team 1 should be able to pull it off.

    I'll take Team 1.

    First off, you don't really need 5 SP's for a 5 game series. So I'd take Beckett-Halladay-Haren-Lee over Lincecum-Cain-Santana-Hernandez.

Second, although it's a crapshoot, I think Team 1 has the better position players.

So, while anything can happen in a short series, I would take my chances with Team 1.

Just fyi, I'd be cheering like crazy for team one... But it's missing Michael Young, who's a terrific hitter in the clutch. :)

The starting pitching is pretty comparable, but I think team 2's pen is slightly better. Plus they get Mo. How come team one can't get Mo?

Personally I think the better hitters are on the first team. Much better bench, too. I'd have to go with them.

Team 1 would win because Ryan Braun is my cuz.

PS.: how did you not include CC Sabathia or Mark Tex?

CC - 123 K's and 10-1 with Milwaukee last year

    Tex - 29 HR 83 RBI's

    Game 1: team 2

    2: team 1

    3: team 1

    4: team 2

    5: team 1

    Reasons for team 1 winning:

    Ryan Braun, better bench,better 1B, 2B (close though), 3B, LF, Ichiro's hitting

Dag Baseball Man, I like your question, but everything is so bunched together.

I personally like team two. I get a little more pop in my lineup, plus that rotation is superb, mixed in with Mariano to shut it down at the end. Makes for a great team.

  • Team 2. Because I think their pitching is slightly better than team 1's.
