Important do not go to crowded places like public thoroughfare, market, waterparks or any other parks, near shops selling pork or buy pork because you never know if the pork is from pig or swine even if you get it cheaper than usual price, where there is centralised air conditioning as in shopping mall, theatre, restaurant.

Tips given by Biplab Mukherjee which he has given in good faith from some source but some are funny as produced below seem funny if you try to follow them.

    Preventive Measures for Swine Flu

These are Universal Precaution measures for any airborne respiratory infections.

    2. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. YOU WILL HAVE TO CARRY SOAP AND WATER IN YOUR BAG AS THESE WILL NOT BE EASILY AVAILABLE IN PUBLIC PLACES, HOW FREQUENTLY IS NOT TIME SPECIFIC.

    3. Avoid touching your nose, mouth and eyes. USE GLOVES ALWAYS AND IF YOU HAVE TO TOUCH THESE ORGANS OF YOURS PLEASE REMOVE THE GLOVES AND TOUCH THEM.

    4. Cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue or cough into your upper sleeve. COUGHING INTO YOUR UPPER SLEEVE SOCIALLY UNHEALTHY IDEA AS SOMEBODY WHO IS STANDING CLOSE TO YOU COULD GET AFFECTED BY YOUR UPPER SLEEVE, BESIDES THE UPPER SLEEVE WILL NOT COVER YOUR MOUTH AND NOSE WHEN YOU SNEEZE.

    5. Cover your Nose/Mouth if anyone around is coughing/sneezing. IT IS BETTER TO WEAR A VEIL LIKE THE MUSLIM WOMEN OR KEEP IT COVERED LIKE A BANDIT RATHER THAN RUSHING TO COVER YOUR NOSE/MOUTH SOMEBODY AROUND IS SNEEZING AND THIS COVERING UP BUSINESS WILL BE DIFFICULT IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING IN A LOCAL TRAIN OR YOU ARE CARRYING THINGS IN BOTH THE HANDS, THE VEIL OR BURQA COULD BE BETTER.

    6. Avoid shaking hands and always wash your hands after physical contact with others. THIS IS PREPOSTEROUS, WASHING HANDS AFTER SHAKING, IT WOULD LOOK RUDE, BETTER JOIN BOTH PALMS OF YOUR HAND IN NAMASTE, IN SUCH TIMES THE BHARTIYA MODE OF GREETING IS A HEALTHY WAY OUT.

    7. Keep frequently touched surfaces clean (telephone, desks, office equipments etc). AVOID GOING TO CYBERCAFES AS THE MOUSE, THE KEYBOARD COULD BE TOUCHED BY AN INFECTED PERSON.

    8. Limit unnecessary visitors. PUT A BOARD OUTSIDE YOUR OFFICE, BEWARE OF SWINE FLU, KEEP SAFE DISTANCE OF 2 FEET FROM THE PERSON INSIDE (I.E. YOUR GOODSELF).

    9. Maintain a healthy lifestyle; attention to rest, diet, exercise and relaxation helps maintain good physical and emotional heath. NOW THAT YOU WON'T BE GOING TO MALL, OR ANY PUBLIC PLACE YOU CAN DO ALL OR EITHER OF THESE AS MENTIONED IN POINT NO.9.

11.Avoid unnecessary travel to Swine Flu affected International / domestic destinations. DOE IT MEAN IF IT IS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO TRAVEL TO SWINE FLU AFFECTED AREA YOU WONT GET INFECTED, THIS IS RIDICULOUS, BETTER CHECK WITH THE MUNICIPALITY HOW TO IDENTIFY IF THE AREA IS SWINE FLU AFFECTED. SUPPOSE THE NEWS SAYS SO MANY PERSONS DIED OF SWINE FLU FROM XYZ AREA THEN CATCH THE FIRST TRAIN AND LEAVE THAT XYZ AREA AND GO TO THE VILLAGE, WHERE THERE ARE NO SWINES ROAMING IN THE VILLAGE.

12.If travel to Swine Flu High Risk areas required, use a Face Mask ( N-95 WHO approved for Swine Flu). IF THAT IS NOT AVAILABLE OR YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GET IT WEAR A VEIL / BURQA OR COVER YOUR FACE LIKE A BANDIT.

    Swine Flu Precautions

Lol, regular flu strains kill 20,000 people a year in the US alone, swine flu has only killed a little over 1000 world wide. Why worry yet? Snakes kill more people in a year than swine flu has so far.

Seriously, after SARS, West Nile Virus, and other horrible plagues that have turned out to be just media fear mongering, why worry? Crappy processed food is a real killer. Swine flu is just a slightly tougher than average flu strain for now. The biggest danger is that there is not much natural immunity to it yet.

Now AIDS is a real problem. Just chill people, don't let the media and government make you afraid about every new virus that appears. The governments are taking sensible precautions.

There are alot of precautions you can take. Avoid crowded areas, be sure to WASH YOUR HANDS, avoid rubbing your eyes our touching your mouth also unless your hands are clean. The disease is spread through droplets produced by either coughing, sneezing, etc from an infected individual, therefore, masks can also prevent the disease. Once more the best preventive measure is to just stay clean and healthy.

See http://www.medilogy.net/health/h1n1-swine-flu/ for more details on prevention towards the bottom of the page. I used to live in India also and know that it is very important to stay educated about the swine flu.

Follow good hand hygiene practices, such as washing hands regularly using soap or an alcohol-based hand disinfectant.

Avoid close contact with people or frequenting crowded or congested areas in places where swine flu is reported.

Use a tissue to cover your nose and mouth while coughing and sneezing, and dispose used tissues properly.

If you are at higher risk (of exposure or fall into category), use a face mask to prevent infections.

    Consult a doctor

If a person becomes sick with swine flu, antiviral drugs can make the illness milder and make the patient feel better faster. They may also prevent serious flu complications. For treatment, antiviral drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within 2 days of symptoms).Beside antivirals, supportive care at home or in hospital, focuses on controlling fevers, relieving pain and maintaining fluid balance, as well as identifying and treating any secondary infections or other medical problems.

cover ur mouth when u sneeze but not with bare hands or use elbow ( that helps prevent spreading it)

be real cautious of sick people try not 2 hang out with them that much

if u have to talk 2 them stay at least 6 ft away so when they talk germs don't get to u ( do this 2 every one u don't know who has it or not)

try not to use public bathrooms nd phones

wash ur hands for atleast 20 minutes under hat or warm water

wash ur hands before and after u eat

wear a mask when entering a hospital or a sick person's home

if u have any symtoms of swine flue go straigth to the doctor nd wear a face mask while traveling so it doesn't spread

** if u have a cold or a bad sickness with swine flue the doctor would have to take serious measures but otherwise u shuold get a priscription of tamiflue go search it on google**

get a good and trustworthy doctor to take care of u rather than any other

Source(s): i live in usa soo we've been over the guide lines more than once in our school it was neccesarry i prefer if u stay in a clean enviorment and check online for swine flue cases in ur state/city just get an idea of how cautiuos u should be

Keep a Hand Sanitizer handy at all times & raise Swine Flu awareness amongst the public.

Just read in the Mid-Day....apparently the people who are wearing masks are being assumed to be infected with the flu. Thats really bad.
