In terms of monetary wealth - New Zealand's richest man is Graeme Hart. The previous answerers reference link is from 2006 and is out of date (note Graeme Hart is shown as 50 years old - he is actually 53).

Up to date link below shows how his wealth has grown over the past few years; he is now estimated to be worth US$4.5 billion. He is the 110th richest person in the world.

PS: He is also the richest person in Australasia!! Another one over the Aussies!!! :-) Hey, we have to take them where we can :-)
