What are some basic tips for creating your own kawaii characters.?

I guess i'm okay at drawing but my weakest point is drawing from imagination. I am good at drawing pictures off the computer or in books. Can you give me any tips? Thanks

Well kawaii characters don't have a nose. The eyes are usually really big and black with two white dots which represent sparkles or whatever lol. The body structure is usually not in the right proportion. Lets say the head is much bigger than the rest of the body and the arms and legs are tiny too. The lips are really small too and can be symbolized as either a little oval circle or a curvy line. Kawaii characters don't need to be human. They can be anything ranging from inanimate objects to fruits, vegetables or animals.
